INFORMATION SYSTEM

Application

  • Distant multiple tariff reading, monitoring and control of the energy consumption of local networks of measuring devices static electricity meters as well as devices measuring heating energy, gas and water consumption with an interface according to EN 61107
  • Centralized collection, storage and processing of the collected data
  • Control of the balance of the measured and delivered energy quantity at certain sections of the energy distribution network. Localization of losses and thefts of electrical and heating energy, gas and water.
  • Emergency control of the status of the energy distribution network and the reading devices.

Communication medium:

Current interface 20 mA, PLC 0,4 kV, GSM/GPRS

Structure:

CARAT REPORTER has a hierarchical structure, implemented on three levels:

First level comprises the measuring devices of one or several electric panels in a certain building, where the collection of data is performed by means of a low-level concentrator of the type CSEM CL3 Data Concentrator Unit. The communication between the CSEM CL3 and the measuring devices id performed on three channels of the current interface 20 mA. In each channel up to 8 devices over a distance of up to 1 km are connected. CSEM CL3 also reads data from a balance electricity meter over an optical inteface.

Second level comprises the master concentrators in the transformer substations, implemented by means of Power Line Modem CMEM and an industrial PC for the collection of data in an in-built GSM/GPRS modem. The concentrators of a low-level CSEM CL3 exchange data with the master concentrators over Power Line 0,4 kV.

Third level comprises the control center with a server and a GSM/GPRS modem where data is collected, stored and processed and application tasks on the power consumption reading. The information exchange between the second and third levels control center is implemented by means of GPRS communication. An initiator of the exchange is the control center and, in case of emergency, the master concentrator of the respective transformer substation can also be an initiator.

Technical and functional characteristics of the system:

  • Each low-level concentrator supports up to 24 devices (static electricity meters)
  • Each master concentrator supports communication with up to 64 low-level concentrators, i.e. 1 536 static electricity meters within a single transformer substation
  • A single control centre communicates with up to 30 transformer substations, i.e. 46 080 electricity meters within one region (town)
  • Maximum exchange speed in PLC - 4 800 bits/sec.
  • A scan cycle of the electricity meters included in a single information system set by a program 15 min, 30 min, 1 h, 24 h.

Abilities ob the program software:

  • Autonomous data collection and statistical reports in a graphical or text form
  • Remote control over the switching on/off the consumer
  • Remote parameterization of the electricity meters
  • Graphical display of the monitored devices and the system structure
  • Possibility for including new electricity meters and modifying the structure
  • A constructed integrated password access module for each consumer
  • Complete information on the events/status of the electricity meters
  • Filtering the results from the monitoring according to different criteria
  • Convenient and flexible output for accounting (collectror’s) programs of the energy distribution companies in the Republic of Bulgaria.

System for local monitoring and parameterization of static electricity meters via collector’s terminal

An essential functional unit of Carat Reporter is an information control system for local monitoring and parameterization of static electricity meters via collector’s terminal. Тhe collector’s terminal provides the possibility to automate the reading of energy consumption of non-industrial subscribers and to carry out parameterization of static electricity meters. The collector’s terminal is an input-output device for collecting data from the non-industrial subscribers. This data can be entered, interpreted, processed, stored and archived in Carat Reporter – Information control system for local monitoring and parameterization of static electricity meters via collector’s terminal.

The data is identified as per EN 61107 standard or in accordance with OBIS: IEC 62056-61 object identification system, which allows the use of the terminal for reading water, gas and central heating consumption.

FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS (WORKING MODES):

  • Parameterization mode. Data transfer from a PC to the terminal:
    • Collector’s identification number and name;
    • Codes for the reporting areas, for which the collector has authorized access
    • Reporting subscribers’ addresses
    • Reporting electricity meters batch numbers
    • Object identification code for each electricity meter – as per EN 61107 or OBIS/EDIS: IEC 62056-61;
    • Data for the last two readings of the reporting electricity meters;
    • Astronomical time;
    • Delete all old data command
  • Electricity meters reading mode:
    • Automatic (for electricity meters with optical IR port) via optical head. The following data is read from the electricity meter: batch number, T1 and T2 tariffs energy registers in straight and reverse directions, Т1 and Т2 tariffs total energy, last parameterization data, alarm status, automatic or manual clock adjustment
    • Manual (for electricity meters without IR port), through which, using the letter and the digital fields of the graphical Touch Screen monitor the operator enters: the batch number and the energy registers for tariffs T1 and T2 together with the current date and hour. The manual data entering is indicated in the terminal’s software.

In both modes, the data is visualized on the monitor and after an operator’s confirmation it is entered in the terminal along with automatic record of current date and hour of reading. The software doesn’t allow unauthorized correction of the already entered data.

  • Reference mode: Through convenient menus the terminal visualizes references on the monitor for:
    • The batch numbers and the addresses of the read subscribers with indication for automatic or manual reading;
    • The batch numbers and the addresses of the unread subscribers;
    • The batch numbers and the addresses of the read subscribers, which were not planned for reading;
  • “Data transfer to a PC” mode: Through RS 232 port the terminal transfers all the readings data to a personal computer.
